  • Rupert Gwee

    Chairman

    For nearly a decade, Rupert has served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for HopeHouse, inspired by the vision of a "Home Within!" He is deeply committed to ensuring that disadvantaged young people are not just sheltered, but empowered with the resilience, skills and appropriate support to launch successfully into adulthood.

    With a background of 44+ years in the Public Service, he emphasizes strong corporate governance and the good, strategic and transparent use of financial resources to maximize social impact.

    Rupert’s dedication to service and development of young people is further reflected in his role as the current Chairman of the St. Patrick’s School Council and a member of the Lasallian Trust of Singapore. His long-standing service to the Lasallian community was formally recognized with the 2025 Service to Education Award. He is a also a recipient of Public Administration Medal – Military (Silver & Bronze) and Commendation medal.

    Beyond his work with launching youth stronger, Rupert has contributed his IT expertise to the healthcare sector for nearly 15 years as a former Chairman and current member of the Technology and Digitalisation Committee for Dover Park Hospice. Alongside his formal board roles, he remains actively involved in various personal charitable initiatives, dedicated to creating a more inclusive and supportive society.

  • Chia Boon Khiang

    Director

    Boon Khiang currently serves as Director and Head of Department for Strategic Partnerships and Branding at SATA CommHealth, a role he has held since 2019. Prior to this, he was Senior Director for Fundraising at Singapore Children’s Society for 13 years. With a total of 19 years of professional service in the non-profit sector, Boon Khiang is also a registered Social Worker.

    He brings extensive experience in strategic leadership and operational management. At SATA CommHealth, he was instrumental in accelerating annual revenue growth from $18 million to $50 million over the past six years and in establishing the fundraising department, which now secures approximately $3.4 million in donations annually. In his previous role at Singapore Children’s Society, he grew donation income from $4.6 million to $15 million annually.

    Boon Khiang currently serves as a Board Member and Director of Hope House Ltd., and previously held the role of Treasurer. He joined the Hope House Board in 2016 through the invitation of Brother Collin Wee and has served alongside Mr. Rupert Gwee since then. Within the La Sallian family, he is also a School Council Member of St. Anthony’s Primary School and has served as Honorary Advisor to the Anthonian Alumni since 2014.

  • Eric Leong

    Director

    Eric Leong is currently the Principal of St Joseph’s Institution Junior. He is an alumnus of the Lasallian family and brings to his role a deep passion for nurturing young people, especially in uplifting “the last, the lost, and the least.”

    For the past eight years, Mr Leong has also served — and will continue to serve — as a member of the Panel of Advisers to the Youth Court, that works closely with the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF). In this capacity, he contributes his insights to the Youth Court on matters affecting the treatment and rehabilitation of children and young persons.

  • Bernard Teo

    Director

    Bernard is a retired school teacher with 33 years of experience in education and holds a Master’s degree in Counselling and Guidance. A long-time supporter of Hope House, he has been volunteering since its early days.

    Currently serving as Formation and Operations Manager at La Salle Centre, Bernard brings deep expertise in youth development and pastoral care to the Board, and is deeply committed to providing at-risk youth with pathways to transformation and hope.
